Clerk to the Governors
Salary: BG8: £10.71 to £11.74 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract: Permanent, Part time, 144 hours per annum, term time only.
We are seeking to appoint a Clerk to work with and fully support our Governing Body.
The post is a permanent, part-time position, covering 6 Full Governing Body meetings and 18 committee meetings per academic year.
The Clerk is expected to provide 15 hours of support for each Full Governing Body meeting and 3 hours of support for each committee meeting.
Each Full Governing Body meeting is normally held during the evening on a Thursday commencing at 6.00pm and normally lasts no more than two hours. Committee meetings take place either during the daytime or early evening, term time only.
The Clerk to the Governors is central to the smooth running of the Governing Body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records and giving procedural and legislative advice to the Governing Body. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings. To help the successful applicant fulfil their role we expect them to attend all relevant training events and the Clerk’s Network meetings which are included in the hours.
